Self or Family-Managed Care

Paying for care services can be costly!

Self or Family-Managed Care (FMC) allows individuals to receive funds in place of government-provided home care services. These funds can be used to hire a care agency to oversee your care needs. You have control over who provides care, when they visit, and what tasks they perform.

Managing care can sometimes seem overwhelming.

By working with us, we simplify the process. We handle hiring, screening, and replacing staff as needed, and take care of employee deductions and benefits. Your only responsibility is to manage the finances. Be sure to keep our invoices for your records.

FUNDING FOR CARE SERVICES
How Self/Family-Managed Care Works:

  • You must reside in a private home, apartment, or assisted living facility.
  • Speak to your home-care Case Manager about FMC, or call the Intake Line directly at (204) 788-8330 to apply.
  • Complete the application you receive (We at Realcare are available to assist you).
  • Set up a separate bank account to manage the allocated funds.
  • Once funding is provided, it will be regularly audited. Remember to retain our invoices!
